DEFAULT COUNTRY TO SEND GIFT TO
Choose whether you would like the United States or Canada to be the default country to which your team members send gifts.
Note: this can be changed on a per gift basis.
ALLOW TEAM MEMBERS TO CREATE CAMPAIGNS
Choose whether you want to permit team members to create campaigns. To learn more about what a campaign is, visit this guide.
Note: the answer to this question cannot be changed if you use invites (you have to allow team members to create campaigns). If you use credits, you have control over whether your team members can create new campaigns.
Best practices: if using credits, we recommend choosing "Do not allow" to give you more control over your team's use of Alyce.
HOW DO YOU ALLOW TEAM MEMBERS TO SEND GIFT INVITATIONS?
Select the gift invitation types that you do NOT want to allow team members to send. All gifts with a red “X” on them cannot be sent by team members.
Note: depending on your company’s plans for using Alyce, it may already be determined which types of gift invitations you can send.
Best practices: this is a very important question and we recommend you talk with your CSM about it.
WHICH ACTION FIELDS DO YOU WANT TO REQUIRE BY DEFAULT?
- Phone number: checking this box requires the recipient to provide their phone number.
- Email: checking this box requires the recipient to provide their email address.
- Calendar invite: checking this box requires the recipient to accept a time to talk to the sender. The meeting will be automatically added to the calendar of both the recipient and the sender.
- Questions to ask: checking this box requires the recipient to answer the questions that you list in the text box.
- Terms to agree to: checking this box requires the recipient to agree to the terms that you list in the text box.
Best practices: if Alyce is being used for door-openers, we recommend requiring phone number, email, and calendar invite. For details, visit this article.
HOW MANY PRODUCT OPTIONS WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE?
Determine the number of products you want to see when you send gift invitations.
Best practices: we recommend choosing the “3 products” option. This will give you a couple of choices to determine which gift you want to send.
WHAT LANGUAGE TO USE FOR ‘GIFT’?
Choose whether you want “Gift,” “Payment,” or “Reward” to be used throughout the site.
Note that this language will be used when Alyce sends communications to the recipient. Example: “You’ve received a X” and "X" will be "gift," "payment," or "reward" depending on what you choose.
Best practices: the default is ‘Gift’ and most Alyce customers use ‘Gift.’
WHAT SHOULD THE DEFAULT BUDGET BE?
What is the maximum that you want to be spent on each gift? Note: this can be changed on a per member basis.
Best practices: we've written an article to help you think through this question. For many Alyce users, $75 works well for the default budget.
WHAT SHOULD THE DEFAULT CAMPAIGN BE?
Set the default campaign that this team will add gifts to. This can be changed on a per gift basis.
SHOULD TEAM MEMBERS BE REQUIRED TO ASSOCIATE EVERY GIFT WITH A CAMPAIGN?
Campaigns help with accountability and tracking. For more details, visit this article about campaigns.
Note: by choosing ”Yes”, your team members will be required to add every gift to a campaign. There is a chance that some of your team members may not like this as it will not allow them to send “one-off gifts” that aren’t associated with a campaign.
Best practices: we recommend you do (select "yes") require members to associate every gift with a campaign.
GIFT INVITATION SHOULD EXPIRE AFTER (DAYS)
Set the number of days after your gift invitations are sent for them to expire.
Best practices: 60 days and 90 days are common choices.
WHICH GIFT VENDORS SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE?
Alyce allows you to set which gift vendors are allowed in the marketplace. If there are no vendors that you want to remove from the marketplace, choose “All gift vendors.”
If there are certain gift vendors that you don’t want to appear as gift options, choose “Specified gift vendors.” You can uncheck any vendors that you do not want to appear in the marketplace for your recipients. You can also use the search bar to find vendors that you might want to remove from the marketplace.
Best practices: we recommend removing gift vendors who might be potential competitors or have conflicts of interest with those to whom you will be sending gifts.
Remember: your recipients have the option to exchange their gift on the Alyce marketplace. When they go to exchange their gift, they will see everything on the Alyce marketplace (within the price range) if "All gift vendors" is chosen.
WHICH TYPES OF GIFTS SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE?
Click “All gift types” to make all gift types available. If you want to restrict the marketplace to certain types of gifts, click “Specified gift types.” You can uncheck any of the gift types that you do not want to be options.
For details on the different gift types and examples of them, visit this article.
Best practices: while many Alyce users allow for all gift types to be accessible, certain users will remove specific gift types, such as gift cards, in some cases due to regulatory reasons.
GIFT SENDER SHOULD BE THE USER WHO FINALIZES AND SENDS THE GIFT?
Best practices: choosing "yes."
