Getting Started with Instant Gifting

When you already have a relationship with a customer or prospect, or you already know something about them, you don’t necessarily need research to tell you the perfect gift to send. Alyce instant gifting gives you the ability to quickly and easily send gifts to the people you already know, in order to advance and strengthen that relationship. 

Alyce Instant Gifting helps you find, select, and send the perfect gift based on what you already know about them. For example, if you're a BDR, Instant Gifting is perfect for reengaging someone you've already had a previous engagements with - or Alyce had done research on previously. Or, if you're an Account Executive, Instant Gifting is the perfect mid-late sales cycle accelerator once they’ve established relationships with prospects.

Getting Started

Manage your account settings to enable Instant Gifting:

Before you send your first Instant Gift, it’s important to activate this Gift Research Option in your account settings.

In addition to Instant Gifting, you can also use the instructions below to activate other Gift Types.

  • In your Alyce instance, navigate to your avatar in the upper right hand corner then click on your name.
  • From this menu, select Campaigns Settings.
  • If you already have an active campaign to which you’d like to add Instant Gifting, select that campaign. If you’re creating your first campaign, follow these instructions for Getting Started with your First Campaign, then proceed to the next step in these instructions.
  • From the Campaign Setting Menu, click Gift Invites. 
  • Once you’re in Gift Invites, locate Gift Research Options and click the “Change” button. 
  • If your campaign is set to “Enable Choice of Research or Choose from the Marketplace” congratulations! 🎉Your campaign already has the Instant Gifting available and your team can begin using this feature.
  •  If your campaign is set to “Research Required” or "Research Disabled" you’ll need to select “Enable Choice of Research or Choose from the Marketplace” then click “Save.”

**Please note: The default setting for all campaigns is "Research Required." 

Manage your campaign settings to set the allowable value of your Instant Gifting Campaign:

After you’ve enabled the Instant Gifting campaign type, you’ll need to set the budget for the gifts you and your team will be sending your giftee. Setting the budget for your campaign ensures that only those gifts within your desired gifting range displays to you and your team from the Marketplace.

Managing your team’s budget using a predetermined volume of invitations

  • In your Alyce instance, navigate to your avatar in the upper right hand corner then click on your avatar ( or the image of you + your first name ) .
  • From this menu, select Campaigns Settings.
  • If you’re creating your first campaign, follow these instructions for Getting Started with your First Campaign, then proceed to the next step in these instructions.
  • From the Campaign Dashboard, select the campaign you'd like to edit. Toggle the campaign settings to Gift Invites.
  • From Gift Invites, scroll down to Gift Budget and then click "Change."
  • Depending on the Gift Types you've enabled for this campaign, you'll be prompted to select a budget for each type of gift. Enter your desired gift budget in the box provided and click “Save.”

Sending your first Instant Gift:

Using the information and insights you have learned along the way, Instant Gifting gives you the ability to quickly and easily send gifts to the people you already know. Using the insights from the relationship you've already built, you can advance and strengthen the relationship you are building with the giftee.  

A personal Instant Gift is powerful, but it’s made more powerful by a well crafted message. Learn more about how to make a message that’s both personal and effective.

There are three ways you can send a gift:

  1. Sending a Instant Gift through the Alyce Dashboard
  2. Sending a Instant Gift through the Chrome Extension
  3. Sending a Instant Gift through Salesforce

Sending an Instant Gift through the Alyce Dashboard

To log into your Alyce Dashboard, go to alyce.com and sign in using the credentials provided by your Alyce admin. If you are the Alyce Admin, your Customer Success Manager will work with you to set up your account and assist you with setting up your team.   

If it’s your first time signing in and your profile isn’t set up, this article should come in handy:

Setting Up Your Alyce Account

  • Navigate to the upper righthand corner, click the yellow "🎁Send a Gift” 
  • Use the open text field under “Who are you sending this invite to?” to enter the name of the person to whom you’d like to send a gift.

    If you don’t already have your contact saved in Alyce, click “Create New Contact” and add the following information:

    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Work Email Address
    • Name of their Company
    • Verify their Country

** Please note: At this time, Alyce is only able to send gifts to contacts located in the United States and Canada.

  • Once your contact is added, the next step is to select the Campaign - or purpose - of your gifting occasion. ( If you’re not sure which campaign to use to send an Instant Gift, please contact your Alyce Admin for guidance. )
  • As soon as your Campaign is selected, Alyce will start gathering information on the contact you've selected.

  • Once Alyce has produced the initial research on your giftee, you'll be presented with three gift options plus the option to review this contact's personal profiles:

  • Once you have selected your gift, click “Choose.” Alyce will then take you to the next step of the gifting process where you select your Invitation Type and draft your message to your giftee. 

 

Sending an Instant Gift through the Chrome Extension:

** Here’s the quick link to Download Alyce for Chrome. If you’d like a walkthrough of how to install the Chrome extension, this step-by-step article should come in handy. 

  • From your inbox, navigate to and click the Alyce for Chrome Extension.
  • Once the Alyce for Chrome Extension appears, navigate to “Contacts.”
  • From here, click the yellow “🎁Send a Gift” 
  • Use the open text field under “Who are you sending this invite to?” to enter the name of the person to whom you’d like to send a gift.

    If you don’t already have your contact saved in Alyce, click “Create New Contact” and add the following information:

    • Work Email Address

Troubleshooting:

Why am I only seeing "Research Required" when I send a gift

If your only gifting option is "Research Required" that means, Instant gifting is not enabled. Please contact your Alyce admin for assistance with your campaign configuration.  

What is the difference between "Instant Gifting" and "Gifting with Research"?

With two types of gifting options available, it helps to understand the difference between each:

    • “Instant Gifting”: Within the gifting flow, gifters will instantly (no wait time) get 3 gift recommendations of broadly appealing gifts. Gifters will also be able to access the full marketplace to find and select a gift.  
    • "Gifting with Research": Alyce’s AI and human-verified research team gathers personal interest data on prospects and recommends 3 personal gifts to send based on their interests.
