Managing Gift Budgets

Alyce campaigns now offer greater control and flexibility in managing gift budgets.

Gift Budget

The gift budget panel, located within Campaign Settings, has been redesigned and now shows one unified budget for all gift types by default.

If you wish to set a different budget for Gift Cards or Donations, simply click the respective button to add a budget field for the category.


Sending Gifts, Gift Cards

When sending a gift, your senders will have the ability to select any gifts that fall within the parameters of the campaign settings, and also have control over the exact denomination of most gift cards.

What about other currencies?

Budgets are set in USD, but we display a converter to show you the value of gifts sent to recipients outside of the United States. (Note: the currency converter is coming soon to the Personal Gifting campaign builder

Additionally, when setting the value of a gift card being sent out of the United States, we display the conversion to US Dollars for the sender.

Gift Exchanges

In most cases, gift recipients who choose to exchange their original gift will see gift options of a similar price point to the original gift.

For example, if you send Tony a $100 blender, Tony will be able to exchange this for a $100 gift card of his choice, or any other good worth around $100.

There are three exceptions to this rule:

  1. Recipient gift exchange value setting
    1. When setting your gift budget, you will select a gift exchange value threshold. These are 20% less or equal, 10% less or equal, ±20%, ±10%
      1. Example: Your budget is $100-200 for all gifts with an exchange value threshold of 10% less or equal. You send Tony a $100 blender, which he chooses to exchange. Tony will see gifts worth between $90-100.
      2. Example: Your budget is $100-200 for all gifts with an exchange value threshold of ±20%. You send Tony a $100 blender, which he chooses to exchange. Tony will see gifts worth between $80-120.
  2. Budget for other gift types
    1. If you set different budget ranges for different gift types within one campaign, and a recipient exchanges a gift for a product of a different budget type, the budget set for the new gift category will prevail, but we will choose the end of the range closest to the originally sent gift.
      1. Example: Your budget $100-200 for physical gifts (±20%), and $5-25 for gift cards. You send Tony a $100 blender, which he chooses to exchange for a gift card. Tony will see $25 gift cards in the exchange marketplace.
      2. Example: Your budget $100-200 for physical gifts (±20%), and $5-25 for gift cards. You send Tony a $25 gift card, which he chooses to exchange for a physical gift. Tony will see physical gift worth $80-120 in the exchange marketplace.
      3. Example: Your budget $100-200 for physical gifts (±20%), and $225-350 for gift cards. You send Tony a $100 physical gift, which he chooses to exchange for a gift card. Tony will see gift cards worth $225 in the exchange marketplace.
  3. Gift card availability
    1. Most of our gift card offerings have customizable denominations in $5 or $1 increments, but some have fixed denomination brackets. In those cases, we will offer the closest option that does not exceed your budget.
      1. Example: Your budget is $100-200 for all gifts (±20%). You send Tony a $100 blender, which he chooses to exchange. Tony will see gifts worth between $80-100, except for one store which only offers gift cards worth $10, $25, $50, $75 or $150. In this case, Tony will have the option to choose a $75 gift card to this store.
