Alyce for 6Sense Integration Prerequisites

The Alyce for 6Sense integration is connected via Salesforce. Your 6Sense instance will need to be integrated with your Salesforce instance to use the Alyce for 6Sense integration. You will also need to connect Alyce to Salesforce. Before you can successfully install the Alyce for 6Sense integration, ensure that you have completed the steps in this document.

Note: You will need to involve your 6Sense Admin and Salesforce Admin to complete these steps. This integration is available for all 6Sense Subscription Packages.

The Alyce for 6Sense integration utilizes 2 data points from 6Sense to trigger your Alyce gifts for the right person at the right account at the right time. Specifically, the integration relies on:

  • 6Sense Segment Name
    • This is required to ensure that gifts are only sent to the accounts who are part of the 6sense Segment that you designate.
  • 6Sense Account Buying Stage
    • This is required to ensure that gifts are triggered correctly when the corresponding account moves into the desired 6Sense Account Buying Stage.

Getting Started (in 6Sense)

Before getting started with this guide, ensure that you have successfully integrated your 6Sense and Salesforce instances. Specifically, you will need to set up the Account Mapping Profiles and necessary orchestrations (Segment Name Enrichment Orchestration and Score Exports Orchestration) in 6Sense if you have not already.

For more information, please review the following documentation from 6Sense’s Help Center:

  1. Connecting Salesforce using OAuth

    1. Ensure that you are pushing 6Sense Segment Names to Salesforce Accounts
  4. Set Up Score Exports Orchestration
    1. Ensure that you are pushing 6Sense Account Buying Stages to Salesforce Accounts

Data Mapping (in 6Sense)

As you are getting set up with the Alyce for 6Sense integration, you will need to provide your data mapping fields. Specifically, the integration requires the Salesforce fields that you are using to map your 6Sense Segment Names and 6Sense Buying Stages.

To find which fields are being used in Salesforce for mapping this data, follow the steps below.

Note: You will need to be a 6Sense Admin to complete these steps.

Step 1: Login to 6Sense and navigate to “Settings” and then “Orchestration Mapping Profiles”.

Step 2: Within Mapping Profiles, select the “Salesforce Account Mapping - Production” profile.

Step 3: Within the “Enrichment Mappings” tab, find the value in the “System Field (Salesforce Account)” column next to “6Sense Segment Names”.

In this screenshot, the value is “6Sense Segment Names”. You will need to provide the name of this field Step 5.

Step 4: Within the “Score Mappings” tab, find the value in the “System Field (Salesforce Account)” column next to “Account Buying Stage”.

In this screenshot, the value is “6Sense Account Buying Stage - Platform”. You will need to provide the name of this field in Step 5.

Step 5: Record the names of the Salesforce fields for 6Sense Segment Name and Account Buying Stage that you just found in Steps 3 and 4 for use later.

Field History (in Salesforce)

The Alyce for 6Sense integration will allow you to trigger Alyce gifts when Accounts move into your specified 6Sense Buying Stages. To achieve this, we need to enable Field History in Salesforce on the Account Object by following the steps below.

Note: You will need to be a Salesforce Admin to complete these steps.

Step 6: Within your Salesforce instance, navigate to the gear icon and select “Setup”.

Step 7: Within the Quick Find box, search for and select “Object Manager”.

Step 8: Within the next screen, search for “Account” and select the Account object.

Step 9: Select “Fields & Relationships” and then click “Set History Tracking”.

Step 10: In the list of fields, find the field which you identified in Step 4 above in 6Sense, check the box (if it is not already checked), and then click “Save”.

Congratulations! You are now ready to install the Alyce for 6Sense integration.
